Consistency & Choice (April 2026)

This year, for the first time, I started planting seeds for my garden.

And if I’m being honest, it reminded me a lot of fitness and nutrition.

You don’t plant something and expect it to grow overnight
You don’t dig it up every few days to check if it’s working.

You plant it, you water it, you give it some time—and you trust the process.

Spring works the same way.

You don’t need to start over. You just need to keep going—and maybe adjust a few things along the way.

Consistency

The change in weather this time of year shifts everything.

After months of being inside, bundled up, and just getting through the winter, spring shows up—and suddenly moving your body feels different.

Lighter. Easier. More inviting.

This is the time to take advantage of that.

Consistency doesn’t always have to happen inside a gym.

It can look like:

  • Getting outside for a walk instead of skipping movement altogether

  • Taking your workout outdoors when you can

  • Adding steps without overthinking it

  • Letting the better weather make showing up easier

You don’t need to overhaul your routine.

You just need to use what’s available to you.

Spring makes consistency easier—if you let it.

Movement doesn’t have to feel forced all year long. There are seasons where it flows a little more naturally.

Take advantage of that.

Choice

Spring also changes the way we eat..

Heavier winter meals start to feel like too much, and fresher, lighter foods become more appealing.

This is a good time to lean into what’s in season.

Fruits and vegetables that are in season:

  • Taste better

  • Are often more affordable

  • Naturally fit how your body wants to eat this time of year

Think:

  • Berries

  • Asparagus

  • Leafy greens

  • Fresh herbs

Meals don’t need to be complicated.

Simple, consistent meals built around real food work just fine.

This is also the time of year people start thinking about planting—whether it’s a full garden or just a few herbs on a patio.

You don’t need to become a gardener overnight.

But even something small—like growing your own basil or parsley—can shift the way you think about food.

It becomes less about rules and more about awareness.

Choice doesn’t have to be complicated.

It can be as simple as:

  • Adding more fresh foods

  • Keeping meals consistent

  • Paying attention to what feels good

  • Are often more affordable

  • Naturally fit how your body wants to eat this time of year

Final Thought

Spring doesn’t require a reset.

It’s just a shift.

A shift in how you move.
A shift in how you eat.
A shift in how you show up.

You don’t need to do more.

You just need to keep going—with a little help from the season.

Consistency is key.
Everything is a choice.
